Rumors and expectations had been circulating for months and finally, a trail of very small drippings and eventual tiny, bite sized “tid-bits” of actual “fact flesh” began to come together and paint a picture that told enough of the story to finally convince even the strictest cynic that the fanciful dream, was in fact, about to become … true.

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, Mark Schatzker’s long-awaited “opus anthology” of steak  and other delicious beef cuts was in fact, now most definitely going to become an absolute manifest reality and at last, carnivores around the world were finally going to be able to jubilantly rejoice with utterly (pun intended) uninhibited exuberance.

The book, published by Viking Press is called “Steak: One Man’s Search for the World’s Tastiest Piece of Beef” and it’s a read that everyone who truly loves a prime cut steak  or any other quality piece of beef should be sure to enjoy for both entertainment and education sake.

At first, the expectations were understandably high and many “Meat Master” around the country were expecting the book to received with a massive media blitzkrieg that rivaled the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing, or at least the 1980 “Miracle On Ice” when the heavily underrated, underdog U.S. Hockey Team beat the heavily favored Soviet Team at the Lake Placid Olympic Games.

Initially some positive, good reviews were released about the book over at The Globe And Mail, Good Reads, StyleFeeder, Yahoo’s  online news service, and of course, Amazon itself, who is proudly promoting and presenting the publication to the public.

But now the Associated Press  has gotten a hold of the story and they seem to be taking it pretty seriously and presenting it pretty positively, so this may very well simply be the momentary calm before the perfect storm, media wise.
